Annis Booker

I’m a mixed-race artist and psychotherapist, born in the  North East of England. My work is expressive, rooted in oil painting, and often explores identity through narrative, past experience, and memory.

I trained in portraiture at Heatherleys School of Fine Art, where I was awarded a bursary from the City of London’s Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers, and went on to complete the Post Diploma at Heatherleys.

Alongside my work in psychotherapy, painting allows me to hold questions of belonging, culture, and personal story, creating paintings that invite reflection on the ways our inner and outer worlds shape who we are.
